Guns at school

On Wednesday, February 20th, A student thought she saw an unidentified man with a gun at her high school in Kentucky. The school was locked down for three hours while authorities searched the entire school, but they didn't find anyone.

Imagine the fear the students felt waiting to learn that their school had been the victim of a Columbine- or Virginia Tech-like shooting and the relief upon learning it was a false alarm.

The week before, in Brockton, MA, a 19-year-old was sentences to prison for plotting an attack similar to Columbine. When three of the students who had been involved changed their minds, they turned the fourth in to the authorities. The police uncovered hit lists, maps of the school, etc. The mastermind was sentenced to 9-months.
